New talents in action
Social Impact
Learn more about the way we improve life for newcomers and about our international activities
Impact reports
Dar al Yasmin Foundation has been in existence for eight years and during this period we have organised many activities and projects that improve the position of newcomers and make them feel better and stronger.
New Talents Incubator is a new initiative and from the beginning, we want to track and report on the social impact we achieve for newcomers and for society here.
In the beginning, we will mainly report anecdotally on our activities and the experiences of newcomers. After a year, we will start reporting in a more structured way.
Education
We have been providing Dutch language lessons for newcomers for many years. Every Wednesday in our language café and on various days in or near asylum seekers’ centres.
Besides individual coaching, we also organise various training courses aimed at personal development, such as an International Art Course and theatre improvisation courses.
We will soon launch an initiative for online teaching in various subjects. The special thing is that newcomers are not only students, but also teachers.
International cooperation
We have started setting up an international network of (budding) entrepreneurs. In this way, we want to contribute to entrepreneurship in developing economies. The immediate reason for becoming active internationally was the demand from starting entrepreneurs abroad for advice on setting up a business concept and a business plan. We would also like to spread our experience with this.
In addition, there are two other advantages: for newcomers to the Netherlands, it may be interesting to also orientate themselves internationally (e.g. on international trade), because therein may lie their strength.
And for ourselves: we learn from our international experience. We focus on innovative business concepts and international experience broadens our view on this.

“Refugees need global solidarity and the ability to rebuild their lives in dignity. Given the opportunity, refugees make significant contributions to their host communities, but they need access to equal opportunities and to jobs, housing, and healthcare. Let us pledge to reaffirm the world’s collective responsibility in assisting and welcoming refugees.”
